Domain name management
The domain name is a company’s intangible asset with high added value. Without this string of characters associated with an extension (e.g. solidnames.fr), the company has no website, e-mail or redirections to enhance its presence on social networks.
Solidnames acts as a domain name manager between the domain name holder or its legal representatives, the registrar, and the technical operator, taking on the complexities of DNS administrative and technical management while adding value through additional services such as domain name portfolio management and a secure domain name renewal policy.
Domain name registrations, transfers and renewals
Solidnames manages andoptimizes domain name portfolios across all Internet extensions.
Managing a domain name with Solidnames includes :
- payment of fees to registration offices
- legal compliance of “whois” information on registrants in registry directories
- web redirects to the URL of your choice, email redirects to the desired email addresses
- renewal notices with tacit renewal by default
- exclusive corporate services
Solidnames experts bring their experience to bear in qualifying domain name portfolios with three statuses (strategic, premium and basic) and adapted service levels.
A strategic domain name will be renewed for its maximum administrative term, with enhanced security using Registry Lock and Registrar Lock protocols.
Domain name registration conditions
When a domain name is acquired, Solidnames verifies the registration conditions in accordance with the registry’s policy, settles the payments associated with the deposit and communicates the technical information inherent in the DNS to the registry via specific protocols (e.g. EPP).
Global registration rules are different for each extension. Solidnames offers local presences for countries requiring a local address, such as Brazil’s .COM.BR or the UK’s .UK.
For confidential projects, Solidnames makes anonymous registrations, enabling us to keep the domain names registered secret.
Our rate is €36 excl. VAT/year for domain names registered in the most popular extensions in France (e.g. .COM, .EU, .FR or .NET).
New Internet extensions (“NewgTLDs”)
Since 2013, 1,200 new internet extensions have appeared on the internet creating a multitude of new opportunities but also new risks.
NewgTLDs include :
- New sector extensions: .BIO, .DIGITAL, .IMMO, .VOYAGE, .WINE…
- New popular generic extensions: .CLUB, .ONLINE, .SITE, .WEBSITE, .XYZ…
- New geographical extensions: .ALSACE, .BERLIN, .BZH, .LONDON, .PARIS…
- New company extensions: .BNPPARIBAS, .CANON, .LECLERC, .MMA, .SEAT…
In October 2022, there will be 30 million domain names registered among the “NewgTLDs”, i.e. 8% of the world total.
Solidnames alerts its newsletter subscribers to the launch of “NewgTLDs” such as the recent .DAY, .KIDS or .FORUM.
Each new Internet extension organizes a priority registration period (“sunrise period”) for trademark owners registered in the Trademark Clearinghouse (TMCH).
Solidnames offerstrademark registration in the TMCH.
Registering a trademark in the TMCH gives you access to additional services such as DPML, the Domains Protected Marks List, which enables you to block your trademark in hundreds of NewgTLDs at once.
Alongside Internet extensions using DNS (“Domain Name System”), there are non-ICANN-driven extensions that operate on “blockchain” technology. SOLIDNAMES also offers management of these NFT domain names, known as web3.
