Lynde et Associés, proven expertise in industrial property
How do you support your customers in managing domain name disputes, particularly in cases of cybersquatting or identity theft?
We support our customers at every stage of the dispute.
Lynde et Associés verifies the identity, contact details, activity and rights of the domain name holder. This verification may extend to the country concerned.
We assess the most effective and fastest courses of action. Depending on the case, we propose :
- A formal notice (addressed to the holder, registrar or host),
- A UDRP, SYRELI, PARL EXPERT, ADR, DRS or mediation procedure,
- An attempted buyout or out-of-court settlement.
Lynde et Associés then ensures the recovery of the domain name. We take care of all administrative and technical aspects of the recovery.
What strategies and/or best practices do you recommend to defend your customers’ brands against domain name abuse?
Start by checking existing domain names. Target those that include the customer’s trademark, in whole or in part. If necessary, take action to recover or delete disputed names.
Register defensive domain names. Choose relevant extensions: generic, geographic or industry-related.
Implement active monitoring. Use appropriate tools to detect abuse quickly.
Subscribe to protection services. Opt for devices such as TMCH, DPML or GlobalBlock to block the registration of similar names.
Adopt a global, proactive strategy. It will reinforce the long-term defense of brand rights on the Internet.
