Les Echos presents the role of Solidnames in meeting the challenges of cybersecurity
The role of Solidnames in cybersecurity, particularly for local authorities, is presented in an article in the French financial daily Les Echos.
Published in October 2024, the article is by journalist Frank Niedercorn. It is entitled “Les régions jouent collectif face à la menace cyber”. In particular, the paper explains the role of cyber incident response centers (CSIRTs).
Created in thirteen French regions, the CSIRTs have local prerogatives, but collaborate with each other. Each relies on its local network of cybersecurity specialists, such as Solidnames in Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
The article discusses the activities of the Regional Cybersecurity and Digital Confidence Campus of Nouvelle-Aquitaine. We learn that since 2024, ” 222 cyber incidents were handled in the region (up 25% on 2023), 44 of which are still in progress. Ransomware attacks accounted for 25% of cases, ahead of data theft (15%). Nearly half of all victims are SMEs, with local authorities accounting for 25% of cases. “.
