Cybersquatters also register the accented script of a trademark among domain names, such as V\u00e9olia with the “\u00e9” in v\u00e9olia.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The brand may be associated with terms related to its activity (e.g. alcatelmobile.com,<\/a> conseiller-cic.com<\/a> or cuisine-schmidt.com<\/a>). <\/p>\n

Dotsquatting domain name<\/h2>\n

Cybersquatters take advantage of typing errors made by Internet users. Dotsquatting”<\/strong> is the malicious registration of the trademark associated with www (e.g. wwwleclerc.com<\/a>, wwwswatch.com<\/a>, wwwvelux.com<\/a>), betting on the omission of the period when visiting a website. <\/p>\n

Typosquatting domain name<\/h2>\n

Theinversion of<\/strong> a brand’sletters<\/strong> is one form of typosquatting (eg. calrins.com<\/a>, lild.com<\/a>).<\/p>\n

In addition to the income generated by diverting Internet traffic, a domain name used on a parking page is often put up for sale by its owner at a price well in excess of its purchase price<\/a>.<\/p>\n
